February Love It List

It’s Friday! How was your work week? Mine was relatively quiet, which is a good thing. Daphne is still enjoying her weekly soccer practice and I had my first session last night at Pittsburgh Barbell Club. It was fun and I learned a lot. We spent an hour working on my form for both snatches and cleans. I’m excited to dive into this new side of weightlifting, but I definitely have my work cut out for me.

Anyways, I wanted to pop on to share a few things I’m loving this month.

1. Born Primitive Lift Yourself Up 7/8 Leggings

Finally, fitted leggings that are opaque! I can’t tell you how hard it was for me to find squat-proof workout gear.

I bought 2 pairs of these leggings in both black and wine colors. They are my new favorites to wear to the gym because they are comfy, functional, and very flattering.

They feature a “scrunch butt” stitching (I couldn’t think of a more eloquent way to say that) and, as the name suggests, they do a great job of “lifting” everything up.

2. Adidas Power Lift 4 Shoes

I usually wear my Converse to the gym, and while they are great for most days, I’d still like to get a pair of shoes specifically designed for weightlifting.

I like the Adidas Power Lift 4 – they have a clean design and get great reviews (98% of customers would recommend them). I’m eager to see if my lifts will improve a bit with the proper shoes.

3. FJÄLLRÄVEN Kånken Backpack

Alan & I are planning a trip out west for our 5-year anniversary in April. I’ve had my eye on a Kånken backpack for a while now and I think this trip would be a perfect reason to get one. I love the waterproof material, the durability, and the versatile carrying straps.

There are so many colors, though, that I’m having a hard time choosing which one I’d get. I’m thinking probably the green or the avocado. But then again, I have a lot of green things. The orange is appealing to me, too. Gah! Any suggestions??

4. Salted Caramel Perfect Bar

Perfect Bar announced a limited edition flavor earlier this week! I can’t wait to try the salted caramel.

Perfect Bars are a staple in my house. They are filling and nutritious. I can usually find the original peanut bars at my local Aldi, but some of the special edition varieties (like salted caramel) are only available online.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. I’ll be back on Monday with my February playlist, so stay tuned for that. See what I did there?
